Private Mortgage Financing Partners is controlled by its two managing partners, Don Konipol and Mitch Vicknair.
Don and Mitch have worked together in various capacities for nearly 20 years. Most recently, they have helped each other source and fund private mortgages. Through this process they identified a need in the market for a single source that provides uniform underwriting and consistent, timely results for a broad array of commercial mortgages that fall outside the approval parameters of traditional financing. The desire to meet this need led them to form Private Mortgage Financing Partners.
Don Konipol holds an MBA in Finance from the University of Michigan and a B.S. in Economics from the City University of New York. In 2002, he formed the Managed Mortgage Investment Fund LP as a high yield real estate mortgage fund, and served in the capacity of General Partner. The fund invested in a diversified portfolio of short term, high interest real estate mortgages secured by investment real estate.
Upon receiving his MBA in 1975, Mr. Konipol went to work for Societe General De Survalliance S.A., Geneva, Switzerland in investment banking. He left in 1978 to come back to the United States and went to work as a commercial realtor for First Equity Company in Houston, Texas. In 1984 Mr. Konipol formed the Investment Realty Group to purchase distressed real estate at auction.
Don has successfully invested in numerous real estate deals, operating businesses, high yield commercial mortgages, and REITs. He currently invests his capital and client/investors capital in real estate, real estate debt and real estate securities.
Don Konipol has had articles published in the following publications:

He had a very successful 20 year banking career starting and managing several commercial lending departments for various banks. The bank’s sole purpose in Texas was to generate commercial loans to small businesses with a goal of funding $50 Million its first year in operation. Under his leadership, the bank exceeded that mark by funding $120 Million. In 2009, Mr. Vicknair left banking to become CEO of American Finasco. Mr. Vicknair became active in Private Mortgage Lending as an investor in 2008. In 2010 he started identifying clients that needed this service and began structuring loans and finding funding sources to participate in the financing.
